During the Super bowl halftime show Katy Perry sang some of her top hits and when singing the song “Teenage Dream,” two backup dancers dressed up as sharks danced next to Katy Perry. The shark to the left is dancing in a crazy way, and the outfit itself looks like something you would find in a Party City.

The shark instantly became famous and was used as a meme for quite some time in 2015. Natalie Brown, junior, said, “I feel somewhat connected to Left Shark; I feel like he represents my life in a way.”

In early 2015 a picture of a dress was sent out and due to the lighting of the picture, it could look either white and gold or blue and black. Many fights were started about who is right. It may have broken the relationships between friends and family.

According to coopervision.com, whether you see the dress as blue and black or gold and white depends on how your brain is interpreting the scene. While the cones in our eyes are the receptors of color information, it’s our brain that compares the signals from the cones and produces an impression of colors.”  Tyler Fross, junior, said, “ I don’t care what anyone says, that dress is blue and black.”
