Looking forward into 2016

From doing the The Whip, to screaming John Cena, 2015 has been yet another year to blissfully look back on. Now we move on to 2016 and like every year before, we will have endless things to look forward to. Now that 2016 has finally rolled in, it’s time to experience new things all over again.

Towards the end of last year, we were already made aware of upcoming movies in 2016. According to movieinsider.com, there’s some films coming out this year that may be anticipated by many.

Some that stood out were: The Witch, The Divergent Series: Allegiant, Batman vs. Superman, The Junglebook, Neighbors 2, Finding Dory, and The Purge 3. If you’re a die hard movie fan, then this year has you covered!

The past years have been overflowing with new technology, and according to livescience.com, so will this year.

There will be things like a self-filling water bottle that converts humid air into drinkable water. Along with that, there’s been talk of trying to create a “smart gun”. It would be made to only be fired by its authorized owner. The point is to prevent accidental shootings from someone who doesn’t know how to use a gun or doesn’t have the intention of using it properly.

More along the lines of everyday electronics, people want to make it possible to create a 3D image emitted from the phone. In other words, it would be similar, if not the same, as a hologram.

Lastly, there will be work done to create self-driving cars. We have already created cars that can automatically prevent accidents, but now there may be a way for a car to be able to drive itself without complete human navigation.

As prominent as technology  is in society, something virtually anyone can look forward to is music. Whether it be a well known artist or a kid with a soundcloud link, music is being dropped all the time.

Metacritic.com has a list of artists expected to release a new album this year. A portion of those artists are Elton John, Kanye West, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Weezer, The 1975, Ariana Grande, Blink-182, Basement, Death Grips, Drake, Flume, Frank Ocean, Gorillaz, Modest Mouse, Radiohead, and Zeds Dead. Everyone can look forward to an album release based on the wide variety of music genres listed. Aside from the many listed, there’s even more albums to anticipate.

Although it’s impossible to see the future, there’s already a lot to look forward to this year. 2016 has something in store for everyone, it’s just a matter of what it is,  but half the fun is waiting to find out.
